Politicians in Kenya have some of the highest salaries in the world. The majority of those who succeed in landing them have quickly accumulated fortune. These people receive great pay and also have a say in the tendering procedures.
The people are represented in the county governments by the County Assembly Members. While some are chosen by political parties, others are chosen by the electorate. Here is how much cash they bring home at the end of the month.
Kenyan MCAs receive a monthly stipend in addition to a wide range of allowances. Sitting, medical, hardship, and housing benefits are just a few of the benefits. They received a Ksh 250,000 gross wage at first. Their pay has, however, been rising over time.
The remuneration for an MCA in Kenya is shown below.
Pay each month: Ksh 165,000

Kenyan MCA nominee’s annual salary
Every MCA in Kenya receives the same pay. This is because county legislators who are nominated enjoy the same rights and benefits as those who are elected.
MCAs’ function in Kenya
Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) can only exercise the legal authority that has been granted to them. Notably, they play a variety of roles because they are an essential part of the county administration and ensure its survival.
Their responsibilities are listed below.
1 Participate in the county assembly’s and its committees’ debates.
2 Keep in touch with the electorate frequently. Before or during discussions in the county assembly, they should consult them on relevant matters.
3 Present the thoughts, suggestions, and proposals of the people to the county assembly in order to represent them.
4 Make a connection between the assembly and the general public about the provision of public services. Healthcare, agriculture, water, and preschool instruction are a few examples of these services.
5 Applying their professional expertise, life experience, or specialized knowledge to any topic the county assembly will be discussing.
