TSC rewards Intern Teachers with whopping 30 marks in the latest New score sheet

In the new recruitment guidelines released by TSC, it’s a big smile to the internship teachers being that they are assured of thirty (30) marks in the recruitment exercise. There before they have been in worry if their time of employment  is coming ,finally they are almost assured with that news being that the marks have been increased from 10 marks used to be awarded to them .With this 30 marks evidence must be shown during recruitment exercise: letter of extension for senior interns, appointment letter for the first time as an intern  and TSC payslip are highly recommended.

Another factor that will increase chances of one to get employed is the quality of certificate. However, teachers teaching subjects combinations like Physics/Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Chemistry/Biology are easily absorbed by TSC since they are few in the field.

Applicants must present original and legible photocopies of the following

  1.  National identification cards;
  2.  National Council of Persons with Disability (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);
  3. KCPE Certificates;
  4.  KCSE Certificates (include first attempt certificate if repeated exams);
  5.  Diploma/Degree Certificates and official transcripts;
  6. Primary and Secondary Schools leaving certificates
    NB: Provisional transcript shall not be accepted.
    Where names on the submitted documents differ, the applicant will be required to submit a sworn affidavit.

Graduate, Degree BA + PGDE or BSC + PGDE Masters Teachers, Diploma or Dip. Tech. Education trained teachers here is the score sheet;

It is important to note that teachers who are serving in internship programme will have an advantage of thirty (30) marks. Defendtly, this is there time. This will automatically give them an upper hand during recruitment exercise.

Here is the score sheet that will be used by TSC during 2021 employment for Secondary school teachers

Awarding of marks for Length of stay since qualifying as a teacher (since graduation)

Its also important to note that the marks for length of stay after graduation has been reduced by a big margin. This is a big blow to trained teachers who opted for other jobs: Banking, international schools ,NGOs among others. They thought by coming back they will steal the show.

NB:For purposes of scoring part B, year of completion of professional training (BED or PGDE) whose certificate is used to score part A of this score sheet
determines the length of stay but not year of enhancement.

Advantage of Communication ability and Co-curricular certificate of participation

One who has a co-curricular certificate of participation will also stand higher chances of scoring more marks. This part is very crucial when it comes to breaking of ties. Chances are high for those applicants having co-curricular certificates ranging from Regional-National levels.

So as to be on a safe side, its important to provide evidence by producing a document to score above marks.

NB:No candidate should score zero in this section

During interview session good communication command and convincing confidence will tend to give a boost in Tsc  job securing.

Finally, Ensure that your content mastery in your teaching subjects is commendable.
