TSC Reveals the Number of Teachers To Administer & Mark 2021 KCSE Exams

The Teachers Service Commission revealed that 70,486  vetted teachers will administer the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.

As per Today Chief Executive Officer, Nancy Macharia said  that the teachers who will administer include:

  • center managers,
  • invigilators,
  • supervisors and even examiners because the test will eventually need to be marked.

She was speaking at the Nakuru Town East Deputy County Commissioner’s office when she opened the examination container, while assuring that there will be no irregularities during the examinations.

“We have given the best teachers to monitor the exams. We have made strides in the administration of examinations and we want to assure the public that the examinations will be free and fair,” Macharia stated.

Macharia further commended teachers and learners for completing the syllabus in the heavily short and congested term.

“It was a very shortened term but the teachers did their best and I am proud of them and am sure learners will do well,” she said.

Earlier this month The Kenya National Examinations Council invited Examiners for the 2021 marking  exercise via online.

According to the examination council, the site shall be accessible as follows:

  • KCPE Examiners – from 4th March, 2022; 
  • KCSE Examiners – from 14th March, 2022. 

Access KNEC Contracted Professionals website using this link: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke and login using their user name and  password.

Those that have forgotten their passwords should click on reset  password button to enter their mobile numbers in the format

Although the practical examinations of Technical and optional subjects began about two weeks ago, written examinations for compulsory subjects begun today and will run to April 1.

The Kenya National Examination Council says 831,015 candidates registered for the 2021 KCSE examination in 10,413 centres, compared to 752,981 candidates who registered in 10,437 the previous year

Treasury Chief Administrative Secretary, Eric Wafukho who had accompanied Macharia said a significant amount of resources will be allocated for infrastructure development in secondary schools as the country prepares for double intake next year.
