On Tuesday, July 19, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) released the names of the individuals who had been shortlisted to fill 14,460 positions nationwide.
The commission announced 5,000 new openings as well as an additional 8,230 positions to replace teachers who have departed the service due to attrition.
According to media sources, more than 356,000 tutors applied for the roles, with post-primary teaching positions drawing the most interest after 219,311 teachers expressed interest in the 4,000 openings.
For the 1,000 openings, 136,833 primary school tutors applied. Additionally, the commission received more than 327,882 applications for the 8,230 openings left by instructors who left due to attrition.
