TSC Receives Sh9.1 Billion boom For Teachers July Salary Increment
The National Treasury has released a sum of Sh22.62 billion to be used to increase teachers’ and civil officials’ salaries this July.
To implement the July pay raise plan for teachers and secretariat employees, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has already received a total of Sh. 9.1 billion from the Treasury.
The Public Service Commission (PSC), which is responsible for implementing salary increases for civil personnel, has also received Sh. 6.8 billion from the Treasury.
TSC teachers and civil servants will both receive a salary increase in July. They will receive an increase in salary of 7% to 10%.
President William Ruto made the announcement on Friday, saying it was to protect public personnel from the hard economic conditions.
“I know there is a proposal by SRC for the increase of salaries of different cadres of both civil servants and other public servants. So our teachers, policemen, military space, and those working in government, we have agreed that from tomorrow your salaries will be adjusted between 7 and 10 percent,” Ruto said during the launch of the new e-citizen platform at KICC.
He stated that a pay rise will be calculated beginning July 1st, implying that the pay increase will be reflected in the July payslips.
Teachers will receive a 7% pay increase in the first financial year (2023-2024), 8% in the second year (2024-2025), 9% in the third year (2025-2026), and 10% in the final year (2026-2027).
