The Teachers Service Commission is the only body mandated by the Kenyan Constitution to recruit and re-evaluate teachers in Kenya.
It is responsible for deploying teachers to schools in any part of the country
But TSC held interviews for some time to promote various teachers to new job groups and administrative positions in all parts of the country.
The process was so strict and lucrative after tough conditions and stiff competition for some positions.
However 16,000 successful teachers who were promoted have something to smile about as their salary amounts will be increased.
These are the new salaries for newly promoted teachers as per the Teachers Service Commission;
Promoted teachers who will work as Deputy Principal 1 (T-Scale 13 D3), their basic salary increases to ksh91,041.
Together there is an increased monthly commuter allowance of 13,000 Kenya shillings, a house allowance of ksh.50,000 and a vacation allowance of 10,000.
Senior Principals of salary scale T-Scale 12 (D2) will now get 91,041 monthly salary with the same allowance as D3.
Deputy Principal III (D1) will receive a monthly salary between ksh 77840 and 85269. Along with Commuter Allowance of 12000, Annual Leave Allowance of 10000 and Monthly Housing Allowance of ksh.45000.
