TSC New appointment criteria & Requirements for principal, Senior principal and chief principal for Secondary Schools in Kenya

Teachers Service Commission is mandated to monitor and assign duties and respond to the teachers who serve the Kenyan child.

Under schools administration, the commission  established three Secondary School Principals’ grades in the 2018  under Career Progression Guidelines under which, TSC has established the three promotional grades for Secondary Schools’ Principals which are:

1. Principal  under T- Scale 13.

3. Chief Principal  under T- Scale 15 .

Below is a description of the  above three grades as contained in the Career Progression Guidelines by TSC.

Principals are  for administrators in secondary schools.

Principals  are  responsible for school accounting officer and  the operational management of the whole institution.

They are further  responsible for the implementation and ensuring  of education plans, policies, programmes and curriculum activities of the institution.

TSC Promotion to thies grades is  competitive and subject to availability of vacancies.

1.PRINCIPAL  under T-SCALE 13 Requirements for appointment  To This position:
For a teacher to qualify for this appointment he/she :

A) . Must have served as Deputy Principal II/Senior Master I T-Scale 12 for a minimum period of  3years and above

B) . Must be a  Master’s degree holder in a relevant area.

C) . Must have obtained a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal process (TPAD)

D) .Must have successfully undertaken the relevant TSC (TPD) modules.

E) . Must have a valid Teaching Certificate/ teacher registration certificate.

F) .Must  have demonstrated  an ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers and the employer.

G) . Must meet the stipulated requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

H) . Must be able to meet any other requirement conidered necessary by the Commission.

 2  .A SENIOR PRINCIPAL T-SCALE 14 REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 

To qualify for appointment to this grade,he/she
A). Must  have served as Principal/Deputy Principal I T-Scale 13 for a minimum period of three (3) years.

B) . Must be a holder of Master’s Degree in a relevant area.

C) . Must have a satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and/or Performance Contracting process.

D) . Must have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers.

E) . Must have successfully undertaken the relevant (TPD) modules.

F) . Must have a valid Teaching Certificate;

G) . Must meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

H) .Must  meet any other requirements deemed necessary by the Commission.

 

 3.A CHIEF PRINCIPAL T-SCALE 15

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT 
To qualify for appointment to this grade he/she:
A) . Must have served as Senior Principal T-Scale 14 for a minimum period of three (3) years.

B) .Must be a holder of Master’s Degree in a relevant area.

C) . Must  have satisfactory rating in the performance appraisal and performance contracting process.

D) .must have demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and provide professional support to other teachers.

E) . Must have successfully undertaken the relevant TPD modules.

F) .Must have a valid Teaching Certificate.

G) . Must  meet the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution.

H) .Must meet any other requirements considered necessary by the Commission

    I have a complaint about a certain chief principal.
    she denies the children’s rights, the children don’t have curriculum activities, the food they eat you cant compare it with a national school in short all she denies them everything.
