The Government is changing the education system from 8.4.4 system to 2.6.6.3.The new system is expected to change the lives of the learners through the skills that will be taught in the schools.
The outgoing system has been emphasizing on exams such that a student who fails the national examinations is regarded as a failure in the society.
In order to make the teachers well conversant with the new changes,the primary school teachers employed by TSC have been getting trained in the CBC curriculum.Their secondary schools counterparts are set to be trained ahead of the full rollout of the system in secondary schools in 2023.
Currently,the TTCs are offering the Diploma course for the primary schools teachers.The Ministry of education decided to take back the unemployed P1 and ECDE teachers back for Diploma Upgrade program that will see them being at same level with the new trainees.
TSC has said that all teachers must be trained.TSC has now made a clarification on automatic employment of teachers after completing the Diploma upgrade training.
TSC has said that teachers will not be automatically employed upon attaining the nine months training certificate for the new Diploma upgrade.
TSC Director of Quality Assurance and Standards Dr. Reuben Nthamburi has said this as revealed by Education Digital News.He has said that teachers who are yet to be employed have no full knowledge of the curriculum hence a vast knowledge on this will be fully considered during the coming intakes.
