A total of 35,550 vacancies for primary and junior secondary school teachers have been announced by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The employer claimed in a notice published on Friday that it has 9,000 posts on Permanent and Pensionable Terms of Service for Secondary School Teachers to be posted to Junior Secondary Schools and an additional 1,000 for primary school teachers.
Additionally, TSC will hire 4,000 primary school interns and 21,550 junior secondary school teacher interns.
“Successful candidates will be posted to serve to any primary or junior secondary school in the county where they were interviewed or in any part of the country where the vacancy exist,” the notice from TSC says.
It added: “Successful candidates for Junior Secondary Schools shall be required to teach various learning areas under Junior Secondary Curriculum.”
Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Teachers Service Commission’swebsite,www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ not later than 16th December, 2022.

TSC does not accept hard copy applications and therefore you must carefully submit your application online.
Some teachers have failed to make it to the TSC shortlisting of applicants because of their failure to submit their applications as required.
To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following basic requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Must be a holder of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools and a minimum of a diploma in education in the case of secondary schools;
- Must be a registered teacher with Teachers Service Commission.
