Leave allowance is a yearly allowance paid together with the January Salary of the preceding year. It is given as per a teacher’s grade; with those in higher job grades earning more.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) plans to pay the new 2022 annual leave allowance for teachers, as outlined in the 2021–2025 collective bargaining agreement (CBA), by the end of this month. According to the 2021–2025 CBA, teachers in grades B5 and C1 will receive the lowest annual leave allowance of Sh4,000.The highest earner will take home Sh10,000 per year.
