Secondary school principals in Kisii and Nyamira counties have been affected by the country’s continuous routine transfer of principals and other teachers.
Mr. Masiwo, the Chief Principal of Suneka High School, was recently transferred to Homabay County’s Tom Mboya High School.
Mr. Pius Ngoma, Kisii County Director of Education, confirmed the transfer but did not name the moved Principal’s replacement.
Dr.Wara, the long-serving Principal of Kebirigo High Institution in Nyamira County, was likewise transferred to an unnamed school.
When approached, he just replied with a single sentence.
“It’s true that I was transferred when I least anticipated it,” he admitted.
The principal, who had just handed in the registration and nominal role of the 2022 KCSE candidate to the education offices for certification, wanted the school continued to do well in the steering department, which he had established.
He left the school after leading his 311 students to achieve direct admission to university with the exception of one who received a C plain.
Thirteen students received an A-, 107 B+, 127 B plain, 50 B-, 13 candidates received a C+, and only one student received a C plain.
The school received a mean score of 9.2, which is two points higher than the results of the 2020 examination.
