Numerous educational reforms are being implemented by the Ministry of Education’s State Department for Early Learning. To help the state Department implement these reforms successfully and efficiently, the Teachers Service Commission is accepting applications from qualified serving teachers for 115 principal quality assurance and standards officer posts.
The officers will have a permanent and pensionable contract with a monthly salary range of Ksh.49,000 to Ksh.87,360, a monthly commuter allowance of Ksh.8,000, and an annual leave allowance of Ksh.6,000.
The officers will get dwelling allowances at the current rates, in addition to a comprehensive NHIF government servants medical plan.
A.Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
1. Planning and carrying out quality assurance and standards assessments;
2.Disseminating quality assurance and standards assessment reports to educational institutions;
3.Advising Education Boards on the standards of Education;
4.Coordinating school activities and programs;
5.Organizing pedagogical skills upgrading for teachers;
6.Organizing and coordinating co-curriculum activities;
7.Determining the Education Quality Index; and guiding, advising and appraising officers under their supervision.
B.Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
(i) Served in the grade of Senior Graduate /Approved Teacher with Teachers Service Commission in Job Group ‘M’ or an equivalent for at least three (3) years;
(ii) Bachelor of Education degree from a recognized institution;
OR
Bachelor of Arts/ Science with Education from a recognited institution;
OR
Bachelor of Arts/ Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution.
(iii) Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
(iv) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
