The Ministry of Education, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), and the ICT ministry are working around the clock to ensure the results for form one selection  for 2021 KCPE learners are out before the end of next week.

With the completion of this activity early,  parents will have enough time to prepare their students for Form One admission scheduled for late this month.

However some news have emerged that  some candidates who received high marks in the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination results may miss admission to their dream schools due to wrong choices they made when doing Selection.

This comes as a result of the whole admission process being fully automated and as a result  , a stiff competition for placement in prestigious schools is expected.

As per to the latest statistics, National schools can only accept about 5,570 students.

In the recently released results, a total of 11,857 candidates scored between 400 and 428 points, with the majority aspiring to attend national schools.

Magoha said in a statement,“We shall ensure that all children are given equal, fair and just treatment, including those in the slums and far-flung areas.”

According to the latest information, the  top ten candidates i.e 5 boys and 5 girls from each sub-county will be  in the national schools of their choice during the selection process.

Since there are 290 sub-counties, therefore 2,900 students from across the country will be able to attend their preferred schools.
According to professor magoha, the vacancies in national schools will be shared 50:50 by students from private and public schools.

This affirmative action will see  selection of top candidates from urban slums to attend national schools thus candidates who performed well but come from areas with a high concentration of top marks may be denied admission to their first-choice school.

According to the  education ministry, the sub-county school receives 15% of the vacancies, the county school receives 35%, and candidates from other regions receive 50%.

After the completion of selection exercise in next week, a code will be issued through which the parents will be using to check on schools where their candidates could are placed.
