RE: REGIONAL TRAINING OF COUNTY TRAINERS FOR JSS TEACHERS ON PEDAGOGICAL KNOWLEDGE -2023
In line with its mandate in the Guidelines for Implementation of Junior Secondary Education, the Centre for Mathematics Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) is in the process of rolling out the training on Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) for Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers.
The training of JSS County Trainers will be held on Friday 14th to Monday 17th April 2023 in the following five venues:
1) Eldoret- Sirikwa Hotel
2) Embu- Izaak Walton Inn
3) Kakamega- Golf Hotel
4) Machakos- Pride in Plaza Hotel in Athi River
5) Nakuru- Merica Hotel
The distribution of counties across the five venues is outlined in Annex
The purpose of this letter is to ask the CTCDC to:
1) Invite the JSS County Trainers that the CTCDC selected to attend the training in the venue assigned to the county in Annex I. The reporting day is 13th April 2023 in the evening. Participants will not be accommodated at the training venue but will be expected arrange for their own accommodation close to the venue.
2) Pay the participants:
a) Daily Allowance of KSh. 2,000 per day for five days to enable them to find their own accommodation.
b) KSh. 1,000 for lunch while travelling to and from the training venue.
c) Return transport allowance as per approved budget.
