PUBLIC SERVICE SUPERANNUATION SCHEME (PSSS) SENSITIZATION: TEACHERS
The Public Service Superannuation Scheme (PSSS) was established under the Public Service Superannuation Scheme Act No. 8 of 2012 for providing retirement benefits to Civil Servants, Teachers and Disciplined Services Personnel.The Scheme is managed by a Board of Trustees with support of a full time Secretariat and Service Providers.
The Scheme became operational on 1st January, 2021 following gazettement of
the commencement date by the Cabinet Secretary National Treasury and Planning
pursuant to Section 1 of the PSSS Act. The Scheme has the responsibility that
include among others, educating members on their benefits and requirements as provided by the Act.
The Public Service Superannuation Scheme has organized sensitization forums for teachers who turned 45 years of age as at 2021 and those employed thereafter who are members of the scheme.
The sensitization is proposed to commence from24th April 2023 to 5th
May 2023 during the school holidays across all the Counties in the Country.
To enable the sensitization to be rolled out, you are required to: –
1. Identify venues in a central place as per the attached schedules.
2. Mobilize the teachers who turned 45 years of age as at 2021 and those
employed thereafter who are members of the scheme through the Sub County Directors and Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs) and ensure every
zone sends five Primary and five Secondary School teachers.
3. Ensure all the County Human Resource Officers and Sub County Human
Resource Officers attend the sensitization.
