The Public Service Commission (PSC), has unveiled a list of graduates picked to work as interns in various government ministries.

In the document shared by the commission on Tuesday, January 4, a total of 3267 graduates were selected for the 12-month programme scheduled to run in the 2021/2022 Financial Year.

The new recruits form part of the fourth cohort since the annual internship programme kicked off in 2019.

Advertised under the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP), the interns will be paid a stipend at a rate of between Ksh15,000 and Ksh25,000.

The recruitment exercise for the fourth cohort was advertised starting from August 3, 2021, with a list of shortlisted candidates being unveiled in November 2021.

The positions that were  advertised varied from different departments, ministries, and agencies in the government.

Interns stand a chance of being absorbed into various ministries and departments after completion of their one year programme.

Successful candidates will perform  mutually agreed upon duties including those assigned by the supervisors and document relevant skills acquired. They are also expected to take part in various mentorship programmes during that period.

PSIP is a government initiative to offer opportunities to graduates to acquire and develop technical and professional skills as well as work experience in the public service.

How to Check

Those who applied can find out if they have been picked for the 12-month internship programme by visiting the PSC website:  http://www.publicservice.go.ke and visit the internship sections.

In the section, all the names of the candidates have been published with all the relevant departments and their county information.
