Biology is one of the cluster subjects required to pursue a course in any medical field. It is also one of the most crucial bridging courses for Nursing in Kenya. Certificate in Bridging Chemistry
You must pass Chemistry at KCSE to enrol for a Diploma, Higher Diploma, or Degree in Pharmacy. Since it is one of the most critical bridging courses for Pharmacy in Kenya, you must have a higher grade to apply. For example, You can only enrol for a Diploma in Pharmacy at KMTC if you have a mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE and a C (plain) in Chemistry and other cluster subjects. You will only be lucky if you pass Kiswahili because higher learning institutions substitute it with English. A minimum grade of C- (minus) in English is what you need to apply for any certificate course at KMTC. Also, KMTC requires you to have a minimum grade of C (plain) in English to qualify for any of its Diploma courses.
Only some institutions offer English bridging programmes since most choose Mathematics and Sciences. However, you can apply at the University of Kabianga and Nairobi Aviation College.

Mathematics is a subject required to enrol for most courses at a higher education level. However, Psychology and History are two academic programmes that do not require a student to pass Mathematics.
As a medical college, KMTC has some flexibility regarding the minimum grade a student should have in Mathematics at KCSE. Generally, all faculties at KMTC require KCSE students to have a minimum grade of D (plain) to enrol for any Certificate programme.
