MoE sets 19th November 2021 as half term break dates for secondary schools

As you are aware, the Ministryof Education issued school term dates vide Circular Ref No. MOE/CONFIG5 dated 3rd December, 2020.It decided that the half term break will commence on Friday, 19th November, 2021.

The students will report back on Tuesday 23rd November, 2021.

‘You are required to bring this information to the attention of all Principals of Secondary Schools within your area of jurisdiction.’ reads the circular.

The ministry of Education is reconsidering returning half term break in term two of 2021 for  secondary schools only.

The current fire incidences across the country seems to have been instigated by lack of free time for students to spend at their homes.

“On behalf of principals we did a letter last week, asking for a half term break , the secretary and I had earlier separately talked to director Secondary on the same. ” said Kahi Ndimuli.

Important information

  1. There are incidences of fire in many parts of the country. Kindly, let’s be vigilant and be available in the schools to arrest the situation.
  2.  Communicate to the students that there will be a midterm break on 19th  in November 2021.
  3.  plans are underway for Resumption on of co- curricular activities amidist the pandemic.So, MoH and MoE are closely working together to chart the way forward on the protocols”Margret Mwirigi,CDE-Nyamira
