In the history of the nation, the 2022 academic year will be the shortest and most demanding. When term dates are examined in greater detail, it becomes clear that many stakeholders are in a race against time and the curriculum.
The opening of schools has been postponed till tomorrow, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, according to Interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i, who declared today , July 11, 2022, a public holiday.
Below is the breakdown of 2022 /2023 school term dates :
Term 2, 2022 commences today 11th July and ends on 16th September 2022 after 10 weeks of teaching and learning. Mid-term break is slated for 11th August to 14th August 2022 (3days).
Important Information
During term 2, midterm break will be pushed back for one week to start from 4th- 14th August , to enable the General Elections to be conducted on 9th,August 2022.
Term 3 opens on 26/09/2022 and ends on 25/11/2022, for a 2 months break.No mid-term for term 3.
EXAMINATION PERIOD
- The KCPE 2022 exams will start on 28/11/2022 and ends on 1/12/2022.
- KCSE 2022 examination begins on 1st December 2022 till 23rd December 2022.
2023 School Academic Calendar
The Kenya school term dates will normalize again within the year 2023. KCPE and KCSE national exams will be done in November 2023 as usual.
The 2023 academic year will start on 23rd January 2023 and end on 03/11/2023.
Term 1 in 2023 starts on 23/01/2023 and closes on 21/04/2023 after 13 weeks.Midterm break is slated for 3days from 23rd-26th match 2023.The Term has a 2 weeks holiday break from 22nd April to 7th May.
Term 2 runs from 8th May to 11th August 2023 and takes 13 weeks.
Thereafter, learners will proceed for a 2 weeks holiday from 12th August to 27th August 2023.
Term 3 in 2023 will begin on 28/08/2023 and end on 03/11/2023, after 10 weeks.
