As one of the primary methods to stop the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education closed all educational institutions on March 15, 2020. All of the country’s educational programs, including co-curricular activities, were disrupted as a result of this closure (CCA). All athletic events were postponed.
In the new move , the MOE has determined that co-curricular activities will resume gradually after consulting with important stakeholders.
The primary and secondary schools will compete in athletics at all levels in term one of 2022, though, due to the compressed academic calendar, in order to have the qualified athletes ready for the global under-20 trials.
National Championship will be held at the following times and locations.

The following conditions should be observed among others, during the championships
- Incorporation of a medical officer from the Ministry of Health in the championship to advice on safety and health standards.
- The number of participants al the various will be 20 boys and 20 girls
- The number of competitions days and number of officials should be at the lowest level possible to cut on the costs
During the National Championships, the Regions wil take care of all the team officials (Team managers Chaperons. Coaches, Drivers etc.) while the MOE HOS will finance the championship administration cost
The purpose of this letter is to advise all the Sub-County, County Directors and Regional Directors of Education to start planning, organizing and coordinating the championships at their specific levels
