The Ministry of Education (MoE) has issued a circular on Form 1 Placement directing all Heads of Secondary Schools (HOIs) to ensure that they have updated and uploaded the school joining instructions.
The directive aims to ensure that the admission letters of all secondary schools are updated with the latest fee structure, medical forms, personal items and any other information contained in the admission letters
Many schools have been able to update their fee structure to conform to the guidelines on fee structure provided by the Ministry of Education but have not updated it on the instructions to join their school.
Current Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates are set to appear for their national examinations next week between March 7 and 9, 2022.
After this there will be marking of their paper and after some time the result will be released. This will be followed by Form 1 placement.
Given below is the MoE circular on updating the preparation for 2022 Form 1 Placement.

Re: Preparation of 2022 Form 1 Placement – Uploading and updating the instructions for joining schools
As you know that Kenya Certificate of Elementary Education Examination will be given from 7th to 9th March, 2022. Soon after the result of the exam, the ministry will start the Form One placement exercise where all the qualified candidates will be placed in secondary schools. ,
School principals are required to update the instructions on joining their schools using the link provided in the email forwarding this circular.
The email must therefore be forwarded to the school’s email address for the link to take effect.
Schools that are in the national, additional county and county categories and their joining instructions are not online must be in words except for the school logo.
Sub-county schools will not be expected to upload their joining instructions as selected students come from around their localities and can take hard copies from schools.
The purpose of this letter is to ask you to cascade this information to the public secondary schools in your jurisdiction. Please inform that this exercise has been completed by 18 March 2022.
