Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Ezekiel Machogu disclosed that Mang’u and Alliance High Schools had the most A (plain) grades in the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams.
The two schools had 82 and 72 A(plain) grades respectively.
Following the success of Guisiiland’s schools, there was some unfounded conjecture that two counties had produced more than 900 candidates who received straight As.
According to the analysis of last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results, Kiambu and Nairobi counties had around one-third of the “A” grades awarded.
However, based on our research, Kisii and Nyamira each had 81 candidates with an “A” grade. Kisii had 51 As, while Nyamira had 30.
The cabinet secretary for education, Ezekiel Machogu, has stated that no exam papers have been leaked.
He complimented the government for putting in place “strengthening procedures to guarantee that malpractices are avoided.”
