When it comes to national examination performance, Kenyan national schools are among the top.

Initially, there were few national schools, but the government, through the ministry of education, raised the number of national schools to foster national cohesion and regional balance.

National school students pay Ksh 53,400 per year, with the government contributing an additional Ksh 22,000 per student.
