The Teachers Service Commission is in charge of employing teachers in Kenya. Other than teacher employment, the commission has other several roles to play.
Among the roles the commission plays are inclusive but not limited to the following ;
- Promotion of teachers
- Transfering teachers
- Dismissing teachers
Normally the TSC transfers teachers from one Station to another. If the commission sees a reason for Transfering a teacher from one station to the other, it can do so.
In reference to that, the commission has transferred a number of school principals. This is to ensure their is effective delivery of services.
Among the recently effected transfers include the following :
Charles Hongo is the principal of Nambale Boys High School in Busia County. He is the recently transferred principal in the Western region following changes made by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
The principal has been transferred to Shikunga High School in Kakamega County. He was fully in charge when the school’s academic results and students’ behaviour changed for the better.
The new school head of Koyonzo Boys High School, which is just next door, is Solomon Sisuma. He had worked at Oyoo Otieno Boys High School in Kisumu County. He replaced Boaz Adit.
Moses Mabonga, who retired, is replaced as principal of St. Peter’s Nakalira Secondary School in the Kimilili sub-county by Kennedy Nyamwolo.
Mr. Nyamwolo previously served as the principal of St. Paul’s Lugari Boys High School.
Tom Amadi will step in for him. He had served as the head principal of Bungoma County’s Kamusinde Secondary School.
Also, Misikhu Friends High School will be run by Mike Wanyonyi, the school’s new principal.
Nyamira County Transferred Principals
The high school principal of Rioga has been moved to Nyaikuro high school.
Principal Nyansabakwa High School has also relocated to Kisii County.
In the recent reorganizations, the principal of Riomego in North Mugirango constituency has also been transferred.
