A C+ remains the minimum score required for an undergraduate degree, according to the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). In the same way has been in previous years,
According to this, each and every one of the 173,345 students who completed the KCSE exam in 2022 with a grade of C+ or above will enroll in college.
This occurred at a time when parents and children were worried that the minimal grade needed for admission to institutions would rise in light of the KCSE 2022 class’s performance.
The minimum academic requirement for admission to a university was met by 145,145 applicants who took the KCSE Exam in 2022 and scored a grade of C+ or above.
Now, according to KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Dr. Agnes Wahome, universities have enough space to house all of the students.
“I am aware that there are many worries regarding whether we have enough room for students who are eligible to enroll in universities. There won’t be any lockouts and nothing to worry about, the teacher assured the audience.
At a mentorship session for young people from the area on Saturday at Kangaru Boys High School in Embu County, she made the comments.
The purpose of the career guidance and mentorship session was to inform attendees about the KUCCPS application and placement procedure.
When the KUCCPS portal opens, Dr. Wahome asked the students to submit applications for courses.
All applicants who meet the university’s entry requirements should start submitting their applications, she stated, as we have the capacity to do so.
Dr. Wahome urged the applicants, however, to enroll in technical colleges (TVETs) and sign up for diploma programs if they didn’t want to attend universities.
“There are numerous universities where students can enroll in programs that will enable them to realize their aspirations. She suggested allowing learners to select and pursue the educational paths they desire to take.
Candidates for the 2022 KCSE, current university and college students (comrades), professionals from Embu County, as well as local leaders and government representatives, all attended the ceremony. Where Candidates were inspired also to apply for Diploma Courses if not interested in joining Universities.
