The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has issued a viral notice claiming that its site is now open for university, college, and TVET applications for the 2022/2023 academic year.
A KUCCPS spokesperson told one of the media that the public should dismiss the information and that official communication would be broadcast on their official channels.
The KUCCPS site has yet to be opened, according to the spokesman.
Candidates who had recently passed their national exams and had yet to apply to universities, colleges, or TVET schools had an opportunity to do so, according to the bogus announcement.
The notice also indicated that a candidate ought to input their KCSE index number, and year of examination and use their birth certificate number as their password.
The notice also alleged that students who scored a minimum of a C+ can apply for degree courses in both the public and private universities countrywide.
“It’s now official that the KUCCPS portal is now open for 2022/2023 University, College, and TVET applications. Students who completed their secondary school studies and are yet to apply can now log into the KUCCPS site for application. Input your KCSE index number, KCSE year and use your birth certificate number as your password.”
“Students who scored a minimum of a C+ can apply for degree courses in both the public and private universities country wide,” read part of the fake notice.
KUCCPS is tasked with coordinating the placement of Government-sponsored students in universities and colleges.
The entity also implements career guidance initiatives and disseminates information about university programmes
But the degree courses are not opening 😕
When will KUCCPs portal be opened for 2021 candidates
