On Thursday, February 16, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) distanced itself from a job posting advertisement that was spreading on social media.
The examination council stated in a statement obtained by a local outlet that the material did not come from its recruitment department and cautioned the public to be wary of imposters.
“The announcement below on recruitment is not from KNEC,” the council warned.
The alleged job advertisement requested applications for several positions in the council, including Deputy Director, Examination Officer I, Examination Officer II, and Examination Officer III.
According to the posted advertisement, the hiring process was to begin yesterday, February 15, and end on February 28.
“KNEC recruitment 2023/2024 is ongoing. Kenya National Examinations Council job application portal www.knec.ac.ke, requirements, how to apply, starting, closing date and other relevant information are available on this page,” the statement read in part.
