The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has released a complete list of schools from which Grade 6 students can choose Junior Secondary Schools in Grade 7.
The process that students in Grade 6 should follow while choosing junior secondary schools has also been established by the Council.
A list of JSSs was uploaded by KNEC to their website, http://www.cba.knec.ac.ke.
Teachers who are presenting candidates for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) in 2022 have been instructed to access the list of schools using the school’s login information (username and password) and help students choose their JSS schools.
Once logged in, teachers must pick the “Grade 6” icon, choose “register learner,” and then select the “secondary school choices” button that appears next to a learner’s name to enter the learner’s selections.
Two National schools, two Regional schools, two County schools, four Sub County schools, and two Private Junior Schools must be chosen by each Learner. The cost of education in private schools is assumed to be covered by the parents.
According to KNEC Chief Executive Officer David Njeng’ere, questions about JSS that are either not present in the KNEC portal or should have been are best directed to the County Directors of Education for help via the Sub County Directors of Education.
All teachers are asked to stick to the deadline because the site, which began on Monday, August 15, will stay open until Tuesday, August 30.
Placement in all already operating, registered public and private secondary schools, Public secondary schools that share a compound with a public primary school, and Public secondary schools that will use the available classroom(s) in the primary school as additional learning space
