The Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) has announced that the deadline for Diploma upgrading students to register for national assessments will not be extended any longer.
Knec had originally set the deadline for registration as May 6, 2022, in a circular.
By the 13th of May, 2022, Knec had also instructed Principals of Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) to submit registration paperwork to the Teacher Education Section KNEC Offices, New Mitihani House, South C, Nairobi.
The date was changed after an outcry from teacher trainees who claimed the term was too short and they were not prepared with payment funds.
The trainee teachers also complain about testing centers that are too far away, forcing them to delve further into their pockets to handle the set.
Knec after listening to the complaints revised the registration timelines and set 13th May as the last date for registration of the trainee teachers.
Below is a circular by Knec that was sent to all Principals of Teacher Training Colleges (TTC).
