The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has condemned viral examination results in which a student allegedly scored one A and six Es in the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
KNEC denounced the shared screenshot as fake and poked holes in the fabricated communication purportedly from the council.
“We wish to inform the public to ignore this fake result being circulated through social media. “No such index number exists in any of our schools,” the body clarified.
According to the fake results, a student by the name Brian Kigen scored a straight A in English and E in Maths, Kiswahili, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Agriculture.
The student registered under index number 47789377301 attained a mean grade of E and an aggregate of 18 points.
Upon enrollment for the Form Four exam, all students are given a unique index number with 11 digits, the first eight of which are to identify the school and the last three the student.
