Kirimara Boys High School in Mathira, Nyeri County has been closed after students went on a rampage for being denied a chance to watch the English Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool.
According to area senior chief Ephraim Wathua, the students were angry that the hall where they watch soccer had been converted to a dormitory to create space for students during the pandemic.
He added that the students also wanted to have a mid-term break saying the weeks they will stay in school for the third term are too many.
The school was closed on Monday morning for a week following the incident after the learners who spent the night out returned to the school.
Liverpool ripped apart Manchester United as they powered to a 5-0 win at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick for Liverpool, extending his scoring record to 10 straight games in all competitions, but Klopp was full of praise for the whole of his attack.
