The notice further warned that those whose name were not captured in the final list should consider themselves unsuccessful for the positions they had applied for.

“Candidates are invited for the interviews as per the dates and time indicated against their names. Those whose names do not appear in the list should consider themselves unsuccessful,” read the notice in part.

How to Check

The final list of the shortlisted candidates was published in the Daily Nation Tuesday Edition noting clear interview date and the names of the successful candidates.

Kenya Prisons Service further noted that the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru is the official venue where the interviews will be conducted.

Upon recruitment, the shortlisted candidates will undergo an intensive government sponsored paramilitary initial training course lasting for not less than nine months for medical technicians and not less than 13 months for the other positions.

Cadets have been narrowed into groups of 100 people each to appear on specific days beginning Monday, March 21 until Friday, April 1.

Medical practitioners, on the other hand, have been grouped into teams of 75 and their interviews will begin on Monday, March 21 to Friday, April 1. All candidates are expected to be at the venue by 8:00 a.m. on their respective days.

“Members of the public are warned that the interviews will only be conducted at the said venue and on the days as indicated. Any person therefore purporting to be conducting interviews away from the indicated venue should be treated as a criminal.

“Prospective candidates must carry their original identification card, birth certificate, KRA PIN certificate, academic certificates and other testimonials on the day of interviews,” cautioned the notice.

The recruitment exercise took place on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in different venues across the country. Over 340 venues had been earmarked for the exercise.

For the general cadets, the agency is seeking to fill 33 categories including medical officers, general surgeons, pathologists, psychiatrists, radiologists, pharmacists and public health officers among others.

On the other hand, 23 positions are up for grabs in the medical technicians section including clinical officers, occupational therapists, mortuary attendants and public health officers.
