All eligible and interested candidates who wish to apply MUST meet the general conditions and requirements stated below;
General Requirements
- He/she Must be a Kenyan citizen;
- Have a valid National Identification Card;
- He/she should have NO criminal record;
- Be aged between 18-30 years for diploma/certificate holders; OR
- Be aged between 18 and 30 years for degree holders;
- For medical consultants ,Be between the ages of 18 and 32 years.
- For men be at least 5 feet 4 inches tall and 5 feet 2 inches tall for women;
- Be physically and medically fit;
- He/she Must have good hearing and clear vision;
- During recruitment and the training period, Female candidates MUST not be pregnant.
On recruitment, candidates will be subjected to an intensive Government sponsored para-military initial training
course which will take not less than nine (9) months for technicians and thirteen (13) months for general cadet officers.
Applicants should note that the entire recruitment exercise will be absolutely FREE, therefore any bribery and other acts of corruption are prohibited
Individuals presenting themselves for recruitment with fake academic/professional certificates, identity cards, or engaging in any corruption related acts shall be disqualified, arrested and prosecuted.
Kenya prison insists the recruitment exercise will only be conducted at the listed recruitment centre and
on the day as scheduled.
Prospective candidates MUST remember to carry their original National identification card, birth certificate, KRA PIN certificate, academic certificates and other testimonials during the interview day.
ACADEMIC/TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have the following qualifications
a) Medical practitioners;
i. A KCSE minimum mean grade of C+
ii. From a recognized institution of higher learning posses an undergraduate/post graduate degree.
iii. Registered with the relevant statutory bodies.
b) General Cadets: Candidates must possess;
i. A KCSE minimum mean grade of C+
ii. From a recognized institution of higher learning posses a relevant undergraduate degree.
c) Medical Technicians; Candidates must possess;
I. A minimum KCSE mean grade of C (Plain) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
and /or
II. Have a relevant diploma/certificate from a recognized institution and registered with the relevant
statutory bodies where applicable
