Another university that the Teacher Service Commission jointly approved and signed a contract with plans in place for extension majorly for training teachers is KEMI. The Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI) is approved as Teacher Professional Development, TPD, service provider to implement the TPD Programme and invites only registered .teachers to enroll for the programme.
KEMI shall offer a Competency Based blended TPD program to registered tutors via :
- face to face and virtual learning methodology.
- Face to Face tutorials shall be held at Sub County Venues countrywide.

Teacher Professional Development (TPD) OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of the TPD is to improve learning outcomes in Kenyan schools by:
(i) Institutionalizing a culture of life-long learning of teachers and instructional leaders
(ii) promoting institution-based professional learning practices;
(iii) Equipping teachers and instructional leaders with 21st century skills;
(iv) Building capacity for teachers and instructional leaders’ competencies in creating supportive, safe and healthy learning environments.
Award upon successful completion of the introductory module ,the teacher will be issued with a transcript. A certificate will be issued after completion of module 1 to be used for renewal of teaching certificate by TSC.
