The 1.2 million KCPE candidates who began sitting their national exams on 7TH and ended on 9th March 2022 are likely to get their results from the 23rd March.

According to the education CS Prof George Magoha the marking of multiple choice scripts ended on 19th March 2022 , thanks to the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) machine which electronically eases the swift scores on the scripts .
The OMR machines use dedicated scanning device that shines a light beam on the paper.

In some while, Magoha said the examiners will grade Kiswahili and Insha and English composition. He added the OMR machines will be used to speed up the tallying the composition papers of both Kenyan national lingos. This was previously done by the examiners manually for the two papers which are still graded by hand .

However, physical counts are no longer used to calculate grades. After marking the two national language papers the examiners hands over the papers to OMR Machine which performs electronic magic marking tallying in record time.

‘’With such developments in technology the KCPE 2021/2022 results will be available quite soon, anytime between 23rd Wednesday and Saturday 26th March ,’’ said Magoha, adding that ,’’depending on the availability of president Uhuru Kenyatta , we should be able to tell how our children performed.’’

Candidates can check their exam results by sending their index number to SMS Code 20076 once the exams results have been officially released. The SMS which costs Sh20.00 for Safaricom and Airtel lines will provide detailed school, subject, county, and student performance per subject and performance analysis updates on exam release day.

‘’ This being the case the parents can aptly prepare themselves for any form one joining secondary school next term ,’’ said Magoha
