The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), has revealed how 2022 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates can confirm their registration details.

Head teachers, parents and candidates can now confirm the registration details for 2022 KPSEA, KCPE and KCSE examinations by sending an SMS to 20076. Use this format; (Exam)(Index Number), for example; KCPE36611030002 and send to 20076. You will receive a confirmation message.

Ultimate goal of the confirmation of candidates’ registration details is to avoid ugly situations that have been witnessed in the past where students realise that they were not registered on the examination day.

The exercise is expected to verify all students supposed to sit the national exams scheduled for November and December 2022.

KNEC has already released a timetable for the three national examinations showing that KCSE is set to begin on Monday, November 21, 2022, with orals in foreign languages and end on November 23, 2022 with Physics practicals.

The first cohort of CBC will commence the 2022 KPSEA on 28th November 2022 with a Mathematics paper. English Exam will also be done on the second day. On the second day grade 6 learners will sit for Integrated Science and later Kiswahili exam, Kenyan Sign Language.

On the last day(November 30th, 2022) the pioneer class of CBC will sit for Creative Arts & Social studies paper. The 2022 KPSEA Rehearsal day will take place on 25th November, 2022.

The Grade Six learners will be assessed on five subjects. English and mathematics on the first day, integrated science (science and technology, agriculture, home science and physical and health education) and Kiswahili on the second day, and creative arts and social studies on the third day. They also include arts and craft, religious education and music.

On the other hand KCPE, will commence on 28th November 2022 with a Mathematics paper and end on 30th November 2022 with the Social Studies paper. KCPE Rehearsal day will take place on 25th November, 2022.

Preparation for this year’s examinations is at top gear. Last month, the council invited more teachers to train as examiners in selected subjects. KNEC explained that the training was aimed at expanding its database for teachers to be considered during the marking of the 2021/2022 papers.

Confirmation of registration details is a vital process as it enables candidates to ensure that the details given are accurate to mitigate problems such as sitting for subjects one did not wish to undertake among others.
