Government to recruit graduate teachers for Junior Secondary Schools, Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has announced.
The CS also directed that Junior Secondary School learners will not wear the same uniforms as those in primary schools.
“The issue of lack of teachers to teach in Junior Secondary Schools does not arise. The teachers have adequately been prepared for the task ahead….The uniforms will not be the same. At this particular point, the schools’ management will decide on the colour of uniforms they will require the learners to have,” he said.
The CS also added that President Ruto has directed the Treasury to set aside KES 15,000 per learner as capitation to facilitate free learning in all public schools; govt will spend a total of KES 9.6B for the learners in JSS in this calendar year…No school should charge fees for JSS unless they have boarding wings.
