Nyamira Boys Secondary School in Nyamira County is counting losses, after fire razed down a students’ dormitory destroying property of unknown value.
The dormitory which accommodates up to 250 students, caught fire at around 8 pm, and bodaboda operators together with the neighbouring locals tried to put out the fire, but were able to control
Nyamira town residents showed their satisfaction with the quick response from the county government. Fire fighters are on trying to put off the fire, and it’s confirmed the fire is contained.
The cause of the fire incidence is yet to be determined no casualties but yet to be confirmed .
“We thank God the fire broke out during this time before our children goes to sleep ,” said one of the residents.
The residents also called on the county government to ensure they have fire engines as soon as possible to help in such cases.
