In Busia County today 24th of March, a potential recruit for the ongoing police recruitment drive around the country perished.
After five rounds on the field, the 26-year-old university student fainted.
According to Wilson Ochieng, a relative of the deceased, the third-year student at Kenyatta University chose to participate in the recruitment.
Ochieng stated that he had no known sickness, and that the postmortem will determine what caused his death.
A witness told the media that the deceased suddenly slowed down when police officers approached him with first aid.
“We were called in to assist and have him brought to the hospital, but he had passed away,” he explained.
The witness also stated that there were no medics on the scene to assist with the problem.
“If we had doctors on site during the recruitment campaign, we would not have lost this young man,” the witness added.
