Prof. George Magoha, the Education CS, has confirmed and assured parents that students in class six who will enter class seven in 2023 will attend day schools as they transition to the next CBC level.
This action comes only days after parents expressed their concerns, claiming that their children are too young to attend boarding school and that they are unsure how they will cope with the older secondary school boys and girls.
This has alleviated parents’ concerns about their ostensibly young Grade 6 children being exposed to severe secondary school situations.
Meanwhile, the Kenya National Examination Commission has issued a warning to teachers across the country about registering grade six learners.
To avoid future problems with registration information, all teachers must send precise details for learners with special needs to the examination board.
According to KNEC, teachers should classify students with special needs and record their information according to the guidelines provided.
CS Magoha has previously urged all school heads to guarantee that all students be registered by May 14, 2022, as the deadline will not be extended.
