Earlier this year on January 05, 2023, Kenya Methodist University (KeMU) released a memo detailing some of the outfits and fashion trends that are not part of the institution’s dress code.

University of Eldoret bans 9 outfits which may warrant disciplinary,below is the detailed memo signed by the Dean of Students, Dr. Lelei K. Kiboiy
SUBJECT: STUDENTS DRESS CODE
It has come to our attention that some students are not observing the university dress code as contained in the Rules and Regulations Governing the Conduct and Discipline of students .
All students are expected to dress in simple, decent, modest and appropriate attire that facilitates an atmosphere conducive for studies .
Article 3.1 (e) of the Rules and Regulations Governing the Conduct and Discipline of the Students of the University of Eldoret indentifies the following as inappropriate dress:
- Ladies -micro/mini-skirts skin tight trouser ragged/torn/ ripped pans; hum cat blouses/T-shirts low-cut blouses/dressed micro shorts and transparent dressed attires showing bra straps or sleeveless T-shirts .
- Gentlemen -Sagging trousers; clothes revealing chest and ragged/torn/ ripped jeans
All students are therefore advised to, at all times, desist from inappropriate dressing while at the university as this may warrant displinary action .
Students are also expected to maintain gender complaint attire which should reflect their personal details as documented in the university admission records.
