In  next week, all  primary and secondary schools will likely close for the first term break, and students will be excused from class for a week, until July 10, 2022.

In last month, May 29, 2022, all schools reopened for the start of the new academic year. The new situation differs from the previous ones, when classes began again in January of each year.

The first term holiday in 2022 was so brief that schools  closed for almost  two  months..

The third term will last from September 26, 2022, to November 25, whereas the second term will run from July 11, 2022, to September 16.

The aforementioned modifications are intended to make up for the time lost when the school was shuttered during the Covid 19 outbreak to stop the spread of the disease.

According to the MoE calendar, all schools will close on 1st July and resume for term two on 11th July 2022.

The schooling calendar will return to normal by January 2023, according to the ministry of education.

According to a schedule made public by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), the pioneer grade 6 students will begin taking the Competency-Based Curriculum KPSEA on November 28, 2022.

As they graduate to the secondary level, the grade students will take the place of the existing class eight candidates.

The students will then enter junior secondary in January at an about 12-year-old age and leave for grade 9 at a roughly 14-year-old age.

They will then enroll in senior secondary school to complete grades 10, 11, and 12

The first class of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) will remain in elementary schools even after students have passed the national exam that would certify them for a junior secondary school, according to Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.
