The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has detained three teachers from Nandi Secondary School for reportedly consuming all the bananas and milk in the principal’s office.
Teachers at Lelmokwo Secondary School are accused of breaking into the principal’s office, stealing all the milk, and eating the bananas.
Additionally, it is said that the teachers barged into the kitchen and ordered the cooks to feed them chicken that was intended for the school’s guests.
In a letter written to them, Nandi County TSC deputy director W.O. Mosigisi accused the teachers of breaching the rules.
“I am directed by TSC to tell you that you have breached Clause C (iii) and (iv) of the Third Schedule of the Act,” the letter seen by media reads in part.
“You stormed the principal’s office on March 15 around 1.30 pm without permission and ate all the bananas and milk in the fridge. You stormed the school kitchen on March 16 and forced the school workers to serve you chicken which was meant for visitors,” the letter added.
The TSC deputy director, consequently, interdicted the teachers with effect from May 22.
“Before the commission proceeds to consider and determine your case, you are invited to make a defence statement to the commission in writing within 21 days,” the deputy county boss said.
The teachers were also assured that they will be allowed to be heard by the commission.
