Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary for Basic Education, verified that all KCSE examiners and markers will be paid today Monday 8th, January 2024. Speaking in Eldoret, the PS stated that even KCSE examiners will receive Sh2.8 billion by the end of the day.
“I want to assure our principals that we have released capitations. The resources you are required to receive, we have released them,” Kipsang stated.
“It’s a process but it could be in the schoolaccounts today or tomorrow depending on the speed of the bank,” he added.
Last year, the national exams were administered by 234,473 teachers. Supervisors, invigilators, and exam markers are among them.
In secondary school, 903,260 students took the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams, which began on October 23, 2023 and concluded on November 20, 2023.
The PS spoke in Eldoret, where Education CS Ezekiel Machogu is set to release the KCSE exam for 2023.
Machogu and his crew were briefing President William Ruto at the State Lodge in Eldoret. The national examinations will be announced outside of Nairobi for the first time.
Machogu was accompanied by Belio Kipsang, Principal Secretary for Basic Education, Nancy Macharia, CEO of the Teachers Service Commission, and other education authorities.
