The placement data for 2022–2023 college and university students was released today by Prof. George Magoha, Cabinet Secretary for Education.
Each and every one of the 250,052 applicants who applied to attend universities, TVET programs, and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) was accepted.

The majority (90%) of 2021 KCSE applicants who obtained a mean grade of C+ or higher and applied were successfully placed, with 85% receiving degree programs and 5% enrolling in TVET institutes.
Of the 144,466 Kenyan individuals who were eligible for degree programs, 123,963 (85.8%) were assigned to institutions (67,237 male and 56,726 female).
16,310 candidates who aced the KCSE exam in 2021 and met the requirements for degree programs did not submit applications and may have opted to explore other options.
124,258 applicants have been accepted by TVET institutions (55,553 male and 68,705 female) In order to prepare elementary diploma teachers, KUCCPS for the first time assigned applicants to the 32 public universities.
A total of 1,538 students are enrolled in the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education and the Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (1,216 female and 322 male).
Kagumo, Kibabii, and Lugari TTCs, three institutions that provide a diploma in secondary teacher education, were given 293 students (129 men and 164 women) by KUCCPS.
The CBC curriculum will be taught to these students through instruction.
Students who have been accepted into various colleges, TVET programs, and TTCs are advised to visit their particular student portals to review the details of their placement.
How To Check KUCCPS Placement 2022/2023, University/College Placement
Students can check universities or colleges they have been placed in three main ways;
- Through KUCCPS Student portal
- KUCCPS Mobile App
KUCCPS Student Portal
This is the most preferred way of checking placement report. It entails students login in using KCSE index number and using either KCPE index number or Birth Certificate number as password.
Here are steps to follow:
- Visit: http://students.kuccps.net/
- Login with your details as follows;
- Username: (Use your full Index Number)
- Year: (2021)
3. Password: (Use your Birth Certificate Number)
Once you logged in you will be able to see the course and university or college you have been placed.
All the placed students will be able to check their placement status by sending an SMS with their Index Numbers to 20842. No space. No slash (/)

KUCCPS Mobile App
This is the most convenient way of checking course placed. However, before using this method you must first download the mobile app from Google store.

Once the app has been downloaded, you can log in by using your KCSE index number, enter the year you did your KCSE and use either Your Birth Certificate Number or KCPE Index Number (as used in KCSE Exam Registration) as your Initial Password
